I am Karen Bell, a Black Woman over 50 who has nurtured others, personally and professionally, throughout my life. I have appreciated my journey: 30 years as a performer and band leader, 10 years as a band owner and founder of my company The Bell Affair LLC, and nearly 25 years in higher education. I am also an artist, who began to ignore her voice, just as society has done regularly.

I must remind myself to Live My Values everyday, in hope that Black women will no longer need reminders to live life as they choose.

Let Me Be Free To Love is a community-focused brand uplifting black women over 40 as we instill the principles and practical applications of:

self-love through which we encourage and remind ourselves I am, I can and I will;

community, a space for diverse individuals to unite with one goal, one voice on the way to social change;

equity, a daily expectation while facing societal issues such as racism, sexism, classism and ageism;

wisdom, sought out and welcomed into all conversations and spaces; and

joy the purest and most basic sense of self. The world did not give it, the world cannot take it away.

We will share our stories, heal together and celebrate Black Women.
